Board of Directors

Eden Medical Center is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors: five publicly-elected members of the Eden Township Healthcare District, the Chief Executive Officer of Eden Medical Center, and five community members appointed by Sutter Health.

The following members are the publicly-elected representatives from the Eden Township Healthcare District. Voters from Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro and San Lorenzo elect these officials to a four-year term:

  • Harry Dvorsky, M.D.
  • Walter Kran, M.D.
  • Rajendra Ratnesar, M.D.
  • Francisco Rico, M.D.
  • Carole Rogers, R.N.

    • The following members are appointed to two-year terms. These members, all of whom live and/or work in the community and have demonstrated a commitment of Eden Medical Center, are nominated by the Eden Medical Center Board and are approved by the Sutter Health Board of Directors:

    • The eleventh member of the Board of Directors is George Bischalaney, president and chief executive officer of Eden Medical Center.
