Eden Township Healthcare District

The Eden Township Healthcare District was formed in 1948 to build and operate Eden Hospital. Since its affiliation with Sutter Health, the District shares governance of the medical center to ensure responsible operation of Eden Medical Center and San Leandro Hospital.

The District also oversees the Community Health Fund, a permanent endowment established as a result of the affiliation. The Community Health Fund provides grants to non-profit and government agencies with programs that benefit the health needs of residents of the District, which includes San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward and Castro Valley.
