Renovations are Complete!

Our entire floor has been remodeled for a more comfortable and healing environment for patients and families. The upgrades were completed in December 2004.
The Birthing Center is complete with more private rooms and showers, a home-like setting in each room, and improved amenities to make your stay enjoyable. If you haven't visited us in a while, we encourage you to call (510) 889-5078 to schedule a tour. We'd love to meet you!

A Family-Centered Approach to Care

Every child born at Eden is seen as one of our own, part of the Eden family. That is why The Birthing Center utilizes the full resources of the medical center and our surgical, medical, nursing, education and support staff.
The Birthing Center focuses both on the birth experience and on providing support and information to parents, brothers, sisters and other family members, in order to foster family unity and growth.
Since the hospital opened in 1954 in the midst of the baby boom, we have helped bring more than 71,000 babies into this world. And while the world has changed and our technology has advanced significantly, we remain committed to compassionate, individual care.
